“To that Goddess, who resides in all beings in the form of Illusion (Māyā), Salutations to Her, Salutations to Her, Salutations to Her again and again.”
4. Getting New Knowledge: The Purana is regarded as the ocean of Brahmavidya or spiritual knowledge of God, and with its study, one can gain wisdom and a better understanding of the cosmos.

5. Preparation: The Purity of the reader should be maintained by the reader taking a bath and wearing clean clothes. The custom is to sit on a mat (asana) facing east or north.

7. Daily Recitation: As the Devi Bhagavatam is an enormous text, people usually follow a reading schedule during the nine days of Navratri, in which various chapters are assigned to the days of the festival.

9. Concluding Rituals: Once the daily reading is over, offerings of fruits or sweets are made to the Goddess, and the reading is closed by conveying thanks and asking for forgiveness for any errors.
