1. White Vinegar:

To treat Impetigo it is must to keep the affected area clean, using either an antibiotic ash or water. Prepare your own antibiotic using white vinegar. It helps in stopping the spread of infection and also dries the affected area.

  • Blend 1 tsp of white vinegar in 2 cups of lukewarm water
  • Use cotton ball, and wash the infected skin
  • Pat skin dry & apply an antibiotic ointment.
  • Cover area with gauze.
  • Repeat this twice or thrice times daily till the infection is cured

                                                                     

2.Heat Therapy:

Heat kills bacteria responsible for the infection. Also, it helps in drying the sores & lesions caused by impetigo.

  • Soak a cloth in hot water and wring out the excess liquid.
  • Apply the warm washcloth on the affected area for a few minutes.
  • Repeat several times a day.

3.Tea Tree oil :

Mix few drops of tea tree oil to 1 tsp of olive oil. Apply this over the affected area and allow it to sit for 20 to 30 minutes, then wash it off with lukewarm water. Repeat this twice or twice a day.

4.Grapefruit Seed Extract :

Grapefruit seed extract acts as antioxidant & antibacterial properties. Mix few drops of grapefruit seed extract in water and apply it on the affected area using a cotton ball.

5.Garlic :

Heat few drops of sesame oil & fry 2 or 3 garlic cloves in it. Cool & strain the oil and apply it on the affected area 2 to 3 times daily for a few days. 

How to prevent Impetigo?

  • Wash face twice a day. Once in the morning and once before going bed.
  • Apply mild skin care products. It is suggested to use herbal products.
  • Don't go out in the sun without wearing sunscreen lotion.
  • Never squeeze or pop any a pimple.
  • Exfoliation is must to remain away from red spots.
