    Sexual problems are quite common these days. Many sexual issues are related to the psychological condition of the person. These issues create a feeling of inferiority and embarrassment in a person. Many hesitate to discuss such problems but this is not the right solution. If you avoid such problems you can face serious consequences. A satisfactory and healthy sexual life is the foundation of a firm relationship of a couple. Psychological and sexual problems are directly proportional to each other. A person suffering from such issues automatically affects the other in the relationship.

    There is no age bar for such problems. In some cases, such disorders are experienced in an early age while in some they occur in old age depending upon the type of disorder one has.

    Following are some of the common sexual problems experienced by men these days:

    • Erectile dysfunction- it is also known as impotence. An inability to have erection firm enough to carry on sexual intercourse is called erectile dysfunction.
    • Premature ejaculation: the inability to hold the ejaculation of the semen for not more than 15 seconds during the very beginning of the sexual activity is known as premature ejaculation. They are of two types: Lifelong or primary ejaculation and Secondary or acquired ejaculation.

    There are several reasons that are responsible for these disorders. Some of them are discussed below:

    • Unhealthy lifestyle
    • Excess consumption of alcohol
    • Stress
    • Smoking
    • Sexually abused in Childhood
    • Drugs
    • Injuries
    • Cardiovascular disease
    • Diabetes
    • Anxiety
    • Cancer

    To diagnose a sexual problem there are several tests that are recommended. In some cases physical examinations are also the part of the diagnosis. These physical tests are conducted to check whether the problem is due to an injury to the sexual organs. Some of tests are:

    • Ultrasound.
    • Blood test.
    • Urine test.
    • ECG.

    Medical counselling and consultation is recommended to diagnose a psychological problem.


    If you are suffering from a psychological sexual problem you should not hesitate or delay in consulting a counsellor. In cases of sexual disorders there are some herbal medications available that gives a good result. Walking and some special exercises are also recommended.
