Das Ganu Maharaj was the most devoted and famous follower of Sai Baba of Shirdi. Apart from becoming a great kirtankar and poet, he authored several Marathi books that remain famous.
Travelling with him always are his poems, heavenly hymns and the pictures of his beloved Guru Lord.
He was not only a poet and a saint but also a gifted and successful kirtankar.
He also considered selling bhajans, saints and religious gatherings to be the main work of his job, which was mainly that of a police constable.

His birth name was Ganpatrao Dattatreya Sahasrabuddhe, and he was born in Maharashtra.

He was very fond of devotional songs and also had an interest in literature and spirituality.
