    It is very necessary for a human being to be sexually healthy. Sexual life builds the foundation of the relationship of a couple. Sex related problems; especially sexual problems in men are quite common these days. According to a survey, conducted by the National Institute of Diabetes and digestive and kidney disease about 30 million men in America are affected by the different sexual problems. Such problems build a feeling of embarrassment and can hamper your self-confidence. When a man is not able to have a satisfactory sexual relation with his partner frequently, he can have a sexual problem.

    Sexual problems can arise at any age; some affect the men in old age, while some are found in men of all ages.

    Types and Symptoms of sexual problems in men:

    The term sexual problem itself indicates that a person is not having a satisfactory sexual relationship with his spouse. There are many types of sexual problems in men. Some of them are discussed below:

    Erectile dysfunction (ED):

    It is also termed as impotence. It is the inability of having an erection firm enough to have an intercourse. While it is common in men, but a frequent experience of it indicates health problems.

    Following are some of the factors that are responsible for ED:

    1. Diabetes
    2. Cardiovascular disease
    3. Relationship problems
    4. Anxiety
    5. Drug addiction
    6. Smoking
    7. Stress
    8. Damage due to surgery or cancer
    9. Alcohol intake

    Premature ejaculation:

    It is the inability to delay the ejaculation of the semen. In this sexual problem, the man is not able to hold the ejaculation even in the beginning of the sexual activity, not more than 15 seconds. If such situation occurs frequently, medical consultation is necessary. This problem can occur in all ages, but the middle-aged men are more affected from it.

    The PE is classified in two forms:

    1. Lifelong or primary – When a man starts experiencing such ejaculation from their very first intercourse, then it is termed as primary ejaculation.
    2. Secondary or acquired ejaculation- when early ejaculation is experienced later on after prior sexual experiences then it is known as secondary ejaculation.

    There are many other sexual problems faced by men. However, in each case the treatment can be different. Hence, one should not hesitate to take medical help.

    Diagnosis:

    Several tests that are conducted to diagnose the nature of the sexual problems. Following are some of the tests:

    1. Ultrasound
    2. Blood test

    However, in some cases, physical tests are also required to check any external injuries to the organ.

    Treatment

    A medical consultation and counseling is very important in such cases. The doctors also recommend some behavioral activities and changes. Oral medication should be taken strictly under the direction of the medical practitioner. Walking, exercise and acupuncture are also suggested in some cases.
