What Are The Symptoms Of Skin Cancer
Skin cancer is the most common type of cancer in humans.
Everyone should be aware of the signs and symptoms of skin cancer.
It is one of the most dangerous cancer types anyone can experience.
The number of skin cancer patients has outnumbered the patients with other types of cancer.
That is the reason it is important to learn to identify the signs associated with skin cancer.
Areas Of Development Of Skin Cancer
Skin cancer mainly develops on the parts of the skin that are exposed to the sun.
These parts include the face, hands, arms, legs, scalp, and shoulders.
Even the parts like your lips and the tips of your ears are at risk.
So we might not guess on what part cancer may occur.
Skin Tone Types With Higher Risk
They say that people with fairer skin tones might have a higher risk of developing skin cancer.
But people with all skin tone types, including dark complexions, are at risk.
People with darker skin tones tend to develop skin cancer on parts of their skin not exposed to the sun.
Given below are some of the types and the symptoms of skin cancer
Basal Cell Carcinoma Symptoms
It is a type of cancer that normally occurs on the parts of the body exposed to sunlight.
This type of cancer can appear in two ways.
One type might have a waxy sheen, and the other might have a pearly sheen.
A bump occurs on the affected area. It might also look like a flat, flesh-coloured or brown-coloured scar.
Squamous Cell Carcinoma Symptoms
In most people, this type of cancer also develops on the parts of the body that are exposed to the sun.
In persons with darker skin complexions, this type of cancer might be found in the areas that are not exposed to the sun.
These carcinomas may look like firm, red bumps.
They might also be seen in the form of a flat lesion with a crusty surface.
Melanoma symptoms
Melanomas can occur anywhere on the body.
They can happen on normal skin.
Even an existing mole can turn out to be cancerous.
In men, it is generally found on the head, neck, and torso.
In women, it most likely develops on the lower legs.
The symptoms of this type of cancer include
- Big brown spots accompanied by small dark freckles
- A mole that bleeds and changes color along with its shape
- A small lesion that has irregular edges
- Dark lesions on fingertips, palms, toes and on mucous membrane of mouth, nose or anus

Other Symptoms
There are many other symptoms of skin cancer.
Many of them develop a persistent cough.
Headaches indicate a serious issue if other symptoms are found on the body.
It is important to recognise the symptoms of skin cancer in its early stages so that the treatment can be easier.
Always beware of the moles on the body and keep a check on them.
Early recognition can be advantageous rather than recognising at a later stage.
Early recognition is a lifesaver.
For better precaution, people with a higher family history of skin cancer or any other type of cancer must regularly consult their carer.
Early detection increases your chances of survival and living a better life.
Negligence can cost you your life or even the loss of an organ.
