2 Reasons Why You Should Wear Sunglasses While Travelling?
Sunglasses are a major form of fashion accessories, but they are more importantly used to protect eyes from the harsh effects of ultraviolet rays.
According to doctors, you should use sunglasses for two reasons: comfort and health.
Protection against UV rays
Sunglasses restrict the direct exposure of eyes to the harmful ultraviolet light of the sun and also protect the eyelids and the delicate skin around the eyes.
Ophthalmologists believe that eyes, when exposed to sunrays directly, can cause painful sunburns around the delicate eye area and exacerbate the macular degeneration and cataract problems of the eyes.
Moreover, the skin around the eyelid is more at risk of developing skin cancer.
Hence, it is very important to wear glasses while travelling.
Sunglasses provide protection against the brightness and glare of the sun, which improves visual performance and comfort level.

Sunglasses for Comfort
Usually, for better comfort, doctors advise the use of polarised lenses that are highly effective in blocking glare.
However, outdoor sports players who play golf or similar games can find such lenses inhibitive.
Choosing the Right Sunglasses
- You should use sunglasses that are capable of blocking 99 percent of UVA and UVB rays.
- It is better to choose the glasses on the advice of your doctor, or at least you should buy sunglasses that carry the accepted optometric seal, effective in protecting your eyes against UV rays.
- Good sunglasses are not necessarily highly expensive;
- However, sometimes the lens optics and the frames make them costlier.
- Try to pick up lenses that are optically ground since they are comparatively free from distortion than other sunglasses with pressed lenses.
Thus, people should not only wear sunglasses while travelling but anytime whenever they are outdoors while working, taking a walk, working under the sun, running errands, or participating in or viewing any sports.
